But here is the problem....and its a big one...
Its a "Scrap Booking"party. Ohhhh good Lord. Just typing it makes my heart race and my palms sweat. I get all claustrophobic and I just want to run! I'm a fairly crafty girl. I made my share of "mop dolls" back in the day. I enjoy browsing through Michael's for ideas and am dying to start crocheting again. But these scrappers are a breed of their own. I went to a party once and one of the girls came with a rolling cart filled with photos and she calmly told me that she has organized them all by years and threw away the duplicates. She was "caught up" to 1999. And she was serious! I'm actually ashamed to admit this, but I was a little mad at her.I might have even mumbled some unkind things under my breath about all her cute little pages, hole punches and supplies. I thought back to all my darling photo boxes filled with pictures. I have some in the den, some in the living room and now most are on my computer and not printed at all. I have duplicates and all the rejects where someones nostrils are flaring or my boys are jumping with bunny ears behind the subject.I so admire people who do this. All their photos are in darling books with stickers and notes. I bet when their sons get married they dont have to guess what age they are in some of the pictures. But I have to say its just not me....Going into one of these stores is like going with Steve to Hanks Hardware. I get all fidgety, bug him for quarters for a soda out of the vending machine and really just want to cry. So thank you so much for thinking of me, I would love to have another night on the calendar to hang with you girls. But I am afraid I cant....I have to know my limits and a rash is starting to itch just thinking about it.

It's Friday the 13th...need I say more!!
You know you are in trouble when you have to figure out the date of a picture by the color of the carpet or sometimes the color of your hair~! HAHAHA.
As for throwing away duplicates, was she mad? Did her eyes roll back into head and spin around?
If it makes you feel better, I have darling photo boxes, at least 12, in my living room, plastic boxes filled with pictures in my office closet (at least 14), a huge bin of duplicate pictures that I save for friends to pass out, and a few in my scrapbook albums.
Casey and I are not real scrapbookers. When we go to the conventions, the ladies pounding away with their eyelet hammers or finishing page and page make us crazy, and we mutter quite loudly. I like all the pretty stuff and I like the IDEA of scrapbooking, but I am learning from you that that the real beauty is in the stories, so I will continue to invite you even if I have to buy a case of ointment for your rash~!
I have to admit- I love scrapbooking... But I could never do it for ALL my photos. It is simply too expensive and too time consuming. I save it for special things like recording vacations or giving as presents.
You funny girl--I am with you. I love the creativity, but jeez...an hour, 10$ worth of embellishments with like one picture in the middle of the page just seems like such a waste! Print your blog out and call it good!
I feel EXACTLY the same way! I had to finally just "let go" of the guilt! I did sort through the pictures I had, (the ones not trapped on the digital camera) and handed my kids their pictures in a white, plastic 13 gal. trash bag! It gives me warm fuzzies to see them occasionally going through the "trash" reminiscing through the memories!! ha ha Hopefully, one day they'll marry girls who get invited to scrap book parties and RSVP...YES!!
Sista YA KILLING ME that line "I enjoy browsing through Michael's for ideas and am dying to start crocheting again" yeah right, maybe when you finally move to leisure world, and while you are at it make me a ALUMINUM BEER CAN HAT....
